Chatfuel alternative for social teams who don't need a sales bot
Chatfuel is an AI sales agent: it qualifies leads, takes payments and books appointments, drawing on a metered credit balance. AutoPoster AI suits social teams who mainly want comment-to-DM rules, an inbox, AI spam moderation and content tools on one plan.

Choose AutoPoster AI if
- Your job is managing social accounts, and you want bulk posting, AI captions and AI Studio next to your inbox.
- You want AI spam moderation. We found no hide-comment article in Chatfuel's docs index.
- You'd like to cover several accounts and team members without estimating chats per bot.
Stay with Chatfuel if
- You want a bot to qualify leads, send payment links and book appointments inside chat.
- WhatsApp is your main sales channel and you run template broadcasts there.
- You want to automate replies on ad comments, or TikTok and website chat too.
- You run bots for clients and want agency plans, reporting and a management dashboard.
Chatfuel in brief
Chatfuel today is less a chatbot builder than an AI agent that sells in chat, turning conversations into lead cards in a built-in pipeline. Its docs reach across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and a website widget, and they also cover an MCP server and a public API.
The pricing page sells AI usage as much as software. A reply costs about $0.0093 at default settings, there's a one-time bot setup charge of about $10, and the chat counts are estimates that move with your settings. That suits a business measuring cost per lead, but it's a lot to forecast if you only want to answer comments and send a link.

How to switch from Chatfuel
- 1
Export contacts before you leave. Chatfuel documents CSV contact export through its Public API, using either a segment filter or a list of contact IDs, so you may need a developer's help.
- 2
Don't count on keeping chat history as a file. Chatfuel says it has no chat export, and suggests asking its AI Co-Worker to summarize conversations or pull out details instead.
- 3
Cancel under Billing, Manage billing, Cancel subscription. Access runs to the end of the period, then bots stop replying on all channels.
- 4
You have a 60-day window to change your mind. Chatfuel restores training, flows, audience and history if you return in that time, and deletes the data after it.
Frequently asked questions
- How does Chatfuel pricing work?
You pay for a plan that includes a monthly AI usage amount. Credits cover AI replies, WhatsApp templates and lead events, Meta's fees come from the same balance, and unused credits don't roll over. When they run out, AI replies pause until you top up or upgrade.
- Can Chatfuel send a DM after a TikTok comment?
No. Its docs say TikTok only allows a public reply to a comment, and DM automation starts once the person messages you first.
- Can AutoPoster AI replace Chatfuel?
For keyword comment-to-DM on Facebook and Instagram and WhatsApp broadcasts, it can. If a bot closes sales or books appointments for you, stay on Chatfuel.
